“May you never forget that when it was hard, and you were overwhelmed, and felt afraid, and walked alone, and felt invisible, and didn’t have the answers, and couldn’t see the way, and wanted to give up … you kept going.” By Nakeia Homer
October is Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month
This is us! This is what we do! This is what we all do!
“We’re not there yet but the day IS coming. Every new blog that goes up, every newsletter, every website, every talk, every social networking post, every private moment of knowledge shared with another victim, every coaching session, every class taught, every therapy hour, every group gathering, every prayer muttered, every radio show aired, every celebrity living it and bringing it to notice, every TV show featuring it, every newspaper or women’s magazine article taunting it is another message to another ear that has heard the message. You learned it because someone cared enough to make sure you learned it.”

Our encouragement to you: Do not give up, though you may grow weary. The work you do is vital. Keep saying the words. Keep putting in the time and energy. Be proud of the work you do. You may never know when you have saved a life, redirected a mother or child’s life, changed thinking, moved the progress forward, changed the world, but you did. CCSF Team
Another Way Women Can be Abused
We at CCSF are concerned about the new mail order abortion pill and its misuse. Here is a quote from Marjorie Dannenfelser of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America:
“Senator Daines (has) called out the Biden admin’s illegal mail-order move during COVID-19, and Senator Lankford pressed for an update on the FDA’s review…. Disturbing reports that abortion drugs are fueling abuse nationwide are growing– including cases where health care professionals prescribe them off-label to men who then use them against women’s will and without their knowledge. We look forward to hearing the update on restoring the in-person dispensing of mifepristone” (SBA).
Testimony
We offer this testimony, with a link to “No Survivors” by Jeremy Camp
I normally listen to 105.3 on the drive into church. However, they have a lot of segments on marriage that disrupt my worship mode, so I decided this particular Sunday to put on K-LOVE instead. I heard the Jeremy Camp song – No Survivors. It touched me so much I found the song online. I played it over and over at least 5 times and during the trip I felt like God was saying this was for me and I was being finally delivered from my bad nightmares of my former husband coming after me. So I claimed my healing and shared my testimony with a couple at church that this is done. God gave me the words to switch for the chorus; instead of saying the My Ego, My Pride, I’ve changed the words to say…
Bad dreams, nightmares
That grip on my life
Throw it all into the fire
and leave No Survivors.
And at the very end “I am a Survivor!” We invite you to listen to the song and see the full lyrics at this link. WW

Book Recommendation
Since 2018, the Called to Peace Book and Workbook have helped thousands of women worldwide find peace and healing after destructive relationships. This revised version of the Called to Peace Workbook also includes a new version of Called to Peace: A Survivor’s Guide to Finding Peace and Healing After Domestic Abuse. It may be used for individual study, counseling sessions, or support group settings. Both books have been updated and expanded to accommodate the requests of former support group participants to speak to current issues relating to abuse and more fully address issues like spiritual abuse and trauma.
While Joy Forrest, the author, wrote the original books specifically for survivors of domestic abuse and those who help them, survivors of other types of trauma have found the resources helpful in their healing journeys as well, including those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and spiritual abuse. Such issues severely impact victims physically, emotionally, and spiritually. They lose sight of God’s good character and carry shame that only He can overcome through His love and truth. The Called to Peace Workbook illuminates His heart for the oppressed and His path to healing in a powerful and life-changing way. If you or someone you love is in an abusive relationship, this book is the perfect resource. Amazon 2025
